Engines are so much personal preference that it is pointless to argue about them. The B5 is a solid engine with a great price tag. They are flying off the shelves so that should be enough to show it right there. But they won't always be everyone's favorite engine. No one engine can do that. So I say let the B5 do what it has been doing, and don't take the criticism too seriously. Until it stops flying off the shelves, you have nothing to worry about.
Just my opinion and yes I have yet to run my own B5.
Who knows, it may become my new favorite when that happens. It may not. Only time will tell.
Your absolutely correct, engines are just like cars. There is no one is better than the other, there is only which one is best for you and your driving style. Everything is a compromise and trust me I know all too well about the ever changing cycle of which engine/brand is on top thing over the years. That is not what this is about and I've never alleged or stated that anyone else's products are junk or inferior. The issue stems from some one making those type of statements about our product and when that happens I'll take the time to rebuke statements that I think are false. It's not to start drama, its to ensure that factual data gets passed around.
