Yeah, my buggy has the JC aluminum hexes. I just forgot to chuck em in my bucket on my last order for the truck. I'm just running blinky so it'll survive for a few break-in packs. I'll be setting the diff and slipper the first day out anyway.

Inserts are a preference thing. Bomb1s and JC will hook up a little better through corners because they roll and compress. Closed cells don't compress as much and they stay "flatter" which helps you rotate and dig in when you pull the trigger. The best way I can explain is closed cells square up coming out of corners and and allow better on-power steering if you find your droop sweet-spot.
