V1 was known to have issues which V2 was supposed...

V1 was known to have issues which V2 was supposed to fix, V3 came out to improve upon V2 but I guess it has issue hence the recall.


The ESC should say Version 2 on the side of it if it's a 2nd...

Personally I do not think that the HPI Baja is overpriced. To get into a really good 1/8 scale truggy or buggy you will have almost as much tied up in it as you do the baja.

Looks great. I would suggest getting some outerwears for the air filter, pull start and flywheel. Get some Killer RC cable and the Turtle HD clutch setup before you even run the truck.

As much debris as these trucks get into them I do not think the belt drive setup is ideal. maybe it can be covered up to help protect it but It is still not ideal.

If it is a fairly large track maybe you need to go up a tooth on the pinion. If the truck is no longer accelerating when it hits the face of the jump then it will naturally nose over, no way around...

What gearing are you running? What Wt. shock oil in the rear and how much Pre-Load in the rear.

You need to make sure that the truck is still accelerating at the face of the jump.

I do not know about the clones as I have never owned one of them, I have a genuine HPI Baja 5T and I love it to death. I beat the ever living crap out of this truck and so far I have not broken...
