Yeah, the problem is that the 29t pinion won't fit with the standard spurs...hence the question of how you get a smaller spur?

I would appreciate any help anyone can offer on getting a smaller than 44t spur. I switched to a smaller kv motor and need to change gearing to get better speed. Not racing, just bashing.

Yeah, but the problem is not the motor. The vehicle just can't handle any type of bashing without something breaking (usually the diffs).

I don't own any HPI stuff, so I can't say anything about them...as for traxxas stuff, I don't see it as being any better than the less expensive asian branded...
