I like it, seeing people think outside the box with good solutions is the biggest part of the hobby for me. Those cars need that or a foam bumper that actually fits right.

The norcar guys are using the spec USGT 21.5 in GT12 to keep costs down and things equal. I'm not sure if this is a option for you though.

Picking up a set of offset Roche body mounts is also a good tuning tool for this class. Moving the body towards the front or back by 2-3mm will change the balance quite a bit.
