I just bought an 8-cell NiMH pack for my xl-5 stampede. Do you think i'll burn up my motor, and/or speed controller? What if i put in a modified motor?

How does the whole "turn" thing work? Is a 13 turn for higher top speed? If he wont take it back, can i just gear it real low for the same performance?

i was confused about the number of turns. So I guess you are saying that a 17 turn 540 motor draws more and is faster than a 12 turn 550 motor?

Its the stock 550 motor. It does get hot to the touch but i havent done anything outrageous with it. And it was not run much. Could i have damaged the motor that fast?
