Thats what I assumed looking at the chart. I think its interesting too that Earl didn't get too worked up about RPMs, makes it simpler, one less variable (v x kv should equal rpm though).

It doesn't sound like you bother adjusting the timing on the unit then, you just manually adjust it on the motor until you find that sweet spot.
