Default Which Pinion?

Hello, I just ordered a B4.1 RTR (Brushless), and I'm wondering what the best pinion is to run in grass with the stock 81 tooth spur gear? I was thinking 17? It's kind of thick grass btw.

Thanks all!

Your manual should give you a spur/pinion chart in the back somewhere.

Also, you can use this site for a quick reference.

Hello,

Running in grass will really increase the amp load on your buggy. I would suggest starting with a 15 tooth or even the smallest you have 14 tooth, I know it will be way under geared but after running for 1-3 minutes check your motor and battery temp if you do not have a temp gun then if you cannot keep your finger on the motor for a count of 5 then it is way to hot.

If it is running cool then gear it up a little at a time such as go to a 16 or 17 and keep checking the temp.

Checking the temp is a good thing to do every time your run just to make sure there are not issues and you get max life out of your equipment.

Hope this helps
