Default Newb question about servo.

I recently upgraded my steering servo on my buggy to a Hitec HS-985MG. I purchased a couple of the losi metal servo arms. When purchasing them I noticed there were several that had different codes beside them in which I thought meant that was the servo they were made for. I bought the ones that had the code for Hitec.

Hitec servo
Losi metal arm with code Hitec,

Problem is the arm does not fit on the damn servo gear, Its like its too small. Im pretty sure if i got a BFH it would go on but then Id prob just end up breaking something else. Anybody got some input on this. Thanks.

r those the ones that have the set screw on the outside besides the one in the center? i still run the plastic ones so that i have a weak link instead of messing up my servo

If im understanding your question: there is a place for a screw that goes thru the arm and into the center of the gear of the servo, (hence what holds the arm to the servo). on the other end there are two holes that are there to screw the steering linkage to the arm. I understand what you mean about the weak link but still why does this one not fit when it is coded for a Hitec servo in which I own, Thanks

on some servo arms there is is a screw that tightens it to the servo gear(usually on the outside) and then the center hole

I would grab a magnifying glass and count the splines on the servo, then count the splines on the arm just to be sure before I had to start forcing things. If they are the same and the arm has not been marked wrong, I'd heat the arm a little before I try to put it on.

I hate forcing anything, least of all when itycomes to electronics.

It's only in the neighborhood of 23-26 splines. Shouldn't take a minute.
