Redcat racing?

Im looking at the earthquake 8e. Its fairly new so there arnt many reviews on it.
How is the overall quality of these cars? Its running hobbywing electronics brushless and I have heard good things about them. Im just worried about the quality of the truck itself. Anyone know anyone with a redcat? Thanks in advanced!
Around $300 for a rtr brushless 2.4ghz truck sounds really nice...!

It sounds too good - would have me worried. If parts are not available from within the US and only from China, that'd mean a week minimum wait everytime you needed anything. And you will break parts.
I did a google search on redcat rc reviews and theres plenty of info out there, so more research is in order. You need to find out what kind of support this would have.

I've been hearing that the company is becoming more main stream. Some larger hobby shops even carry some of their parts now. Most of their chassis's are based off similar platforms it looks like, so maybe they will be coming to a LHS...It does seem too good to be true. They seem to have a couple of problem, plastic not being flexible to taking abuse and dogbones popping out of place.
I dont really jump my trucks or do any hardcore racing...so this truck seems like it would do okay in my situation. There are a lot of mixed reviews out there right now about the truck and I want to hear some real reviews by normal people that actually own one of these trucks.

I am a Redcat dealer and have owned virtually every truck they produce. As with any truck they do have their share of issues. Shocks being one of them, dogbones another. Both are upgradeable.
Their 1/8e vehicles are pretty solid for outdoor bashing. There is a video Redcat put out that shows a guy driving all the 1/8 nitro and elecric vehicles off a cliff and only 1 broke bad enough it couldn't be driven away. The cliff was about 25 feet tall.
If you are purely racing I would probably suggest going with a Losi, AE, HPI, etc but there are hundreds of dealers in the US and Redcat's main warehouse is in AZ. They are a great beginner vehicle but it is recommended to have a good supply of standard parts on hand.
Where else can you get a fully RTR 2.4Ghz 1/8 scale brushless vehicle with 2 hard cased lipos for $300?
The electronics are already proven tough. Hobbywing makes great stuff. The 2230v 540 can motor could use a little boost in size but it does make good power. I currently run one in my 4x4 Slash with a MM Pro and 4-6S lipo and with a fan it runs nice and cool with gobs of power.
I'm not claiming that they are top of the line vehicles but I really don't think you will be disappointed with your purchase.
