Default What is Pinion Module?

I need some pinion gears for my MMM/ Castle-Neu setup. So far, I know that I'll need a 5mm diameter pinion with 32Pitch. But what's with all these .8, 1.0 mod? people are talking about?

On Robinsonracing website it shows both .8 and 1.0 module pinions. What are the difference? and are they both 32pitch?

Thanks!

Module is a metric way of nominating the pitch, similar to the way there are metric and imperial bolts. They dont interchange with each other although some may appear pretty simmilar.
So you need to find a 32 pitch pinion, unless you want to change your spur aswell.
Anyway, you could always type a search into Google!!!

Look at the top of page 41 where it is defined. It applies only to metric gears and is just a way of specifying the gear/teeth. Th2 1.0 module will have slightly bigger teeth than 0.8 Module.

What you need for pinion depends on what you have for a spur gear, they obviously need to match.

You can do some more checking around but I have been told .8 m is the metric equivelent to 32 pitch and these http://www.robinsonracing.com/catalog/emaxx-3905.html are the pinions that I use on my brushless E-Revo with stock spurs with absolutely no problems.

It's for Losi 8ight, so 32Pitch Spur. I was looking for 13t pinion for it.
