My Spektrum DX3S has just given up on me & I'm looking at getting a new transmitter but I need to consider on & off road cars, buggies & crawlers as well as boats I'm thinking of Spektrum DX4R Pro, DX5R, DX6R or Ko Propo EX1 ver.3 or is there something else better thank you all in advance for your time & help Dan

Can't go wrong with Futaba or Sanwa... I would recommend creating a spreadsheet to list out the most important features that are important to you and cross reference each selection as you narrow down what works best for you.
For me the Graupner X-8N was the best choice and I have no regrets:
Graupner X-8N 4-Channel HoTT System | TowerHobbies.com
The biggest selling point was reasonably priced telemetry Rx's and 2 year warranty with a USA based service center:
Graupner GR-4 2-Channel HoTT Telemetry Receiver | TowerHobbies.com
I have owned a couple other luxury systems in the past where both Radiopost and KO Propo have left me disappointed

My Graupner is approaching 2 years old and never had a single glitch with it, I currently own/run 10 classes with a different Rx for each car and no issues, there is a newer version to also consider which offers some nicer features called the X-8E.
Another radio to consider is the HiTec Lynx4S, I've heard from several racers in my area that they are very happy with that system too.
I would stay away from Radiopost for too many reasons worth listing, I ditched them for KO Propo.
KO Propo would intermittently glitch on me and I had to re-calibrate each model memory about once a month, and having to do this across 10 models was a real PITA so I ditched KO Propo for Graupner.
Graupner has been awesome for me, but if I were to have any problems (which I don't foresee) my next pick would probably be Futaba only because the Magnum Junior was my first radio as a kid in the 80's. Main reason I didn't go with Futaba was because their price for Rx's were way too expensive.

Chances are that most of your receivers will not work with the DX6R. That radio will only bind to DSMR Spektrum RX. Beware if you have a larger fleet!!
I ran Spektrum for years, but they are having issues now. Spektrum signal is hit hard by the Chinese knockoffs.
Crawling - ok. Racing in a crowded environment - not so much...
Good luck!

If comfort is your most important consideration, then I would visit a local race club in your area and ask to hold various brands of radios to see which feels the most comfortable to you. I often see folks use athletic handle tape to soften the feel of some grips. Some brands will also include rubber padding on the grips too.
