I have a Mylaps transponder that I use when racing my 1/8 scale buggy. I was wondering if there is any product or app out there that works with a transponder that someone could bring to a track during practice. Does anyone know of a cheap way to count laps/times?

I use an app called LapTracker, for iPhones. But it is really only feasible if you are the only car on the track. I have that available to me, so it's an invaluable tool for practice.
That said... it would be awesome if someone would invent or re-purpose an existing push-button, either a corded or bluetooth that will integrate with your phone's stopwatch and act as the lap button. Then you just tap the thing with your toe. Even if it's not perfect to the 10th of a second where you tap it, it would still be a great tool.
What I love so much about the LapTracker app, is it tells you your laptime each lap. I wear a bluetooth headset and it's amazing getting lap by lap feedback. It really puts truth to the slow is faster saying, and gives you the ability to make one change at a time like they say, and get true feedback of how it affected the vehicle.
There has to be some folks on rctech that have the knowledge to make the push button to stopwatch thing happen.. You can get them for laptops, but that would be pretty bulky to bring up to the stand..
But it would be worthwhile if that was all one had access to.
