I solder my WTF fans to the battery terminals on my ESC. This is no different than if you soldered the leads directly to the battery itself.
Works great and fan runs faster than it would tapping off the BEC. And the increased voltage has never damaged the WTF fans. Good luck.

How would the fan cause a brownout? And how is it going to randomly short? Is someone clipping wires under the hood when I'm not looking? I'm genuinely curious because I've been running my fans off the RX port all along and never had a problem. Nor have I ever fried an ESC (knock on wood)

Anyone use this bracket? Will this work on a T5M or SC5M?
What about a B6 with laydown? Thanks

Also which fan would be better to go with soldering into the ESC battery connections (2S Lipo)

It's tidier and does reduce load on your BEC. Some of the fans nowadays can pull 0.5A off 6V and if your ESC BEC is only kicking out 3A or even 4A, 0.5A is ALOT! You're also going to be running your fan at battery voltage instead of 6V ... it's going a tad faster!

Remember, your Bind port is also an accessory port :-)
