I've had a chance to play with the new 7XC and it is brilliant! The menu system is really easy to navigate and use. After doing back to back videos that I slowed down to 1/16th speed you can actually see the improved response time when I compared my 3GR/RFA04C to the 7XC/T-FHSS SR. I have the S9570VS Servo on order to try the SR mode fully.

Does anyone know what the difference between FASST C1 and C2 mode actually is? Alternatively if Futaba may add compatibility for FASST C1 in the future? It is a real shame I cannot use any of my 5 exisiting FASST receivers

I have 2 OrangeRx receivers, the RFA04C and R6008HV and these don't bind via FASST or S-FHSS either. Not that I had much hope of them binding due to being FASST C1 but I thought they may bind via S-FHSS.

EDIT: My bad. Somehow, I accidentally got this posting, and another about a Futaba servo, confused. My excuse - haven't had my morning coffee, yet. Anyway, to this one, seems like a huge waste of money. For far, FAR less money, you can get 2 LiFe batteries...plus, you can still use the Tx while charging the backup battery. With the wireless charger, the Tx isn't useable while charging.

I believe you are getting the wrong Link, as this is what pops up, and was inquired about:

So, out of curiosity I tested a few receivers last night by connecting them up to the SKYRC 6in1 box.

My new 7XC and R334SBS showed as 199Hz (I think the max the SKYRC 6in1 can read is 200Hz unfortunately)

My older 3GR and R603FF and R603FS both showed as 199Hz
My 2 OrangeRx receivers showed as 70Hz and these are supposed to be connected via FASST (C1). No wonder the response time was so visibly slow when I compared them.

I went back and tested the 3GR with the 603FF and there was less of a noticeable difference between the 7XC/T-FHSS SR.

Did you try these in your cars too by chance to see any difference in performance as well? I imagine perhaps then these receivers are probably best left as alternatives for just running around in the yard vs racing?

Was it the GR400F receiver?

I have the RFA04C and the R6008HV that I used with my 3GR Tx. I did back to back videos and slowed them down to 1/16th speed. You could clearly see the OrangeRx receivers were much slower. The stick was about 3/4 of the way across before the wheel moved. I think they will definitely be relegated to basher receivers and none of my race cars!

200Hz is possible, some older radios were limited to 5.5msec framerate because many servo's in that time could not handle more than 200Hz. And FASST is already some years old.....
Today the limit is set to 333Hz as the T-FHSS-SR mode is using on normal servo's. Sanwa is using 384Hz as the ultimate limit of normal 1.5msec center servo's but can give issues with 333Hz servo's.

Default Wow!

Tonight was the first use of the 7XC and it was brilliant! The car felt transformed in that it felt like it only did exactly what I told it to do. Plus the feel and weight of the transmitter was perfect.

I made some small changes during the evenings racing and by Q3 my Xray X10 was incredible. I used 70:30 on the throttle which gave great feel to the acceleration of the car, I removed the lower adjusting nut to have the shortest sticks possible, and I turned the steering expo down to - 20 which helped calm the twitchyness. The car was so driveable, the best it has ever been, sharp, controllable and consistent.

I love this radio and the fact it is so customisable. You can access any item you like so quickly from the user menu and plethora of buttons. It made dual rate and steering expo so easy to adjust out on track.

I am looking forward to trying SR mode once the new servo arrives.

I havn't raced with the 7XC yet but playing with the transmitter already made a smile in how it feels. Even with the car on the table it looks like it has a more directer movement than with my previous T3VCS with a Spektrum HRS TX/RX system. And alo a much better feeling in the hands than the 4GRS

I would think nothing would be gained. The esc I believe does not require that input. It is not optimized for anything other than regular input. I inquired with HW about this and Sanwas, they stated they are looking into this, either with firmware or updated models.

Although SR is new, the technology behind it is not. I also doubt the ESC will work but you will never know if you do not give it a try
