Installing a switch for gyro.

Hello,
I am planning on installing a gyro on my Stampede xl5.
I am thinking of connecting 3PDT on-on toggle switch between receiver, gyro and servo.
But I am not quite sure if this will work to turn gyro on and off.
I have drawn a schematic for it.

The schematic drawing is a bit misleading as it only has a single line representing a 3 wire lead.
Edit: my one concern would be whether or not the gyro will safely handle having the output pins being powered when bypassed, since they're not isolated from the servo.

They mentioned a 3PDT switch, which is basically a 3 pin toggle that chooses been one output or another. There's no relay. All 3 pins, signal + and -, will be switched. It should work.
The schematic drawing is a bit misleading as it only has a single line representing a 3 wire lead.

I was thinking about that problem too, do you think installing three diodes(1N4148) will help?

Also, I got a different suggestion about turning the signal from gyro on and off. Do you think this will work better than the one above?
