Spektrum DX5R

Hello.
So I bought a Spektrum 2400mAh lipo. Changed the settings on the TX from Alkaline to LiPo, charged the lipo, plugged it in and played for couple of hours. Then, when I went to turn off the TX it would not. No matter what I do, it would not turn off. I have tried all sorts but nothing. Help!

Sending and receiving the radio from where I am will cost me half of the radio. I think I will use AA's only.
Thank you for the reply.

I believe for things like these where it is a manufacture defect the company should pay for shipping. I was very disappointed when I had to pay for shipping on mine as well.

hi,
i got a new Spektrum DX5R which supports the DSMR protocol.
Before i used a Spektrum DX4S which also supports the DSMR protocol, but i got problem to bind the new DX5R with the receiver.
Do anyone know if there are some changes in the DSMR protocol?
The receiver is from Deltang which supports DSM2 and surface with 16.ms. The DX5R supports this, it can be configured.
Does anyone know any advice?
Regards Oliver

Hello,
I have two problems with my DX5R and my SR6000T receivier (SPM5000 pack)
1) When using the temp probe (SPMA9571), temperature is good with firmware v1.04 with 22°C (see pictures below) but when I upgrade to firmware v1.06 (to support my future dbxl-e 2.0 with new smart ESC) the temperaure displayed is 3°C, this is not good. I have flashed back to version 1.04 and temperature is good (22°C). So it seems to be a bug in firmware 1.06.
With firmware v1.04 the temp is good
With firmware v1.06 the temp is wrong
2) DX5R with SR6000T (SPM5000 pack) and the latest firmwares (dx5r v1.04 or v1.06, problem with both version and sr6000t v1.1.4 updated with SPMA3065 cable) does not bind to 11ms. When I bind then to 5.5 (without telemetry) or 22ms (with telemetry) it is working flawlessly but when I try to bind them to 11ms get the faster response possible with telemetry, it does not bind. It is very annoying.
Thx in advance for answers !

When binding to a DSM2 RX(sr3100}, should I expect that I am only able to employ a 16.5ms frame rate? If I change it, I lose all response and have to re-bind.

From what I've been able to find searching, I haven't seen any reports of successfully binding the older SR3100 to a DX5 or 6 lower than 16.5. I saw reports using the DX3/4. However, their new receivers are a lot better than the older ones (and fairly cheap) which IMO, is worth the upgrade.

Agree, I’ll likely buy a couple of 315’s.

Not a DX5R, but a DX5Pro. Some of my trim switches are unprogrammable. They are not assigned to anything, but won't let me assign anything to them. Particularly the E Switch around the wheel. Very frustrating. The switches that are assigned beep when I press them. The unassigned ones don't beep, but don't show up as available.
About to go get a few sanwa RX's and switch everything over to my M12S

Switch B: Steering Trim
Switch C: Open
Switch D: Open
Switch E: Timer 2
Switch F: Steering Rate
Switch G: Brake Rate
Switch H: Timer 1
And note that some of the switches, like E and H do not have the back and forth movement of some other switches so they can not be used with some features.

I just received my DX5R after sending it in for the Lipo upgrade (diode?). installed my SPMB2000LITX and it all seemed normal for a while. Went to use it today and found the battery completely dead and now it wont even charge. Charger wont recognize it and shows 0v. Installed the AA batteries in the transmitter and it turns on but it wont turn off! I press and hold the power button and nothing happens, just stays on. This thing is totally messed up. I feel stupid for sending in a perfectly good unit, paying shipping for a so called upgrade to use Lipos and now its toast along with my LiIo battery. Not impressed at all. They should have scrapped the 5R and just gone with the Pro.
