I go to Axialfest every year, alot of times there will be 800-1000 people running there rc at the same. Iv seen more than a handful of Spectrum radios glitch, or there rc takes off for no reason. I run Futaba and never had a problem.

Don't the high end Futaba radios have a headphone jack for audio feedback on telemetry for that exact reason?

And the non-telemetry receivers from Sanwa aren't cheap either so your reasoning doesn't appear to be accurate.

The headphone jack is to my knowledge only to allert the driver with beeps when the stopwatch timer is at the end or near the end.

As I did say the Sanwa receivers are dubble the price, I believe the non telemetry are arround 80 dollar

just got a Futaba 4PV and it's amazing..coming from the 4PLS. You feel so much connected to your r/c

Can you elaborate more on this as to why?

For backyard bashing, my Spectrum does fine. But for precise driving I rely on my Futaba. I have the older generation flagship 4PKS-R.

I'm looking at the new Futaba 3PV. For just over $100, it seems like a no-brainer, especially since you're not paying $100 for receivers like the Sanwa

The equivalent Sanwa receivers only cost $60 since the 3pv is a 3-ch remote you should only be comparing RX cost to Sanwa 3-ch RX units. Of course the 4-ch telemetry receivers will be $100 or more.

I run all of the current radios. I think that I like the M12S a little more than the 4PX. I've shelved the 4PX as I just like the ease of use and RXs of the Sanwa better. Both of those radios are probably a little overkill for you, they definitely are for me. So forget about that babble. I would either get a Sanwa MT44 (the new model) or the MT4S. Those are by a long shot the best of the mid level radios. The MT44 just came out and comes with Sanwa's top of the line antennaless RX and has at least the same latency as the Futaba 4PX. I agree with everybody that Futaba and Sanwa radios are the best. I'm not sure that one is truly better than the other but I do think Sanwa's RXs are better and that, as of today, an MT44 is a better buy than Futaba's 4PV.

I really like my 4PX had the M12 but like the 4px feel better and the receivers are a lot cheaper. Had the Spektrum DX6R and it was nothing but problems.

I use a Spektrum DX4S for bashing with 4 different offroad trucks and have never had an issue. But I have never run with 800-1000 people at the same time like someone else mentioned. Anywhere from 2 to 20 people generally.
