I bought one from Tower, but they no longer carry it. Looks like they dried up pretty fast.
Be wary of ordering from Active. If you do I'd recommend calling in first to ask if they actually have it in stock. Their website is awful about updating.

prob just going to order the radio and protek battery from my track owner. But ill see if he can locate the lrp part number. He really thinks i should stay m12 but ive had it since launch and never really liked it. Kept it cause its high end and theoretically fast but i moght be past the level of comparing radio feels. These seem to hold rheir value well in case i dont like it and i wont get rid of my vanilla m12. It just doesnt work outside.

Side by side the mt44 is way smaller and lighter then the m12. As for lipo battery in Europe look at the intellect one. IP854558-1S. It has been great for me so far

Default 18650 vape battery is legit

I got the chance to put the battery to the test when I finalize my engine break-in on my buggy that Adam Drake put on his EBIS machine. So I ran 5 tanks and put on timer on the radio and came around 35-40 mins of run time. After all that battery bar didn't move and stayed at 4.0v. I highly recommend if you going to use this method get a good decent 18650 battery charger. Don't use hobby grade chargers. All in said its very cheap way to go. 3x batteries $20, Charger $25, battery tray for the radio $5.

I'm very intrigued with the this radio. I really like the look and size of this radio but the battery options have me on the fence. I was set on getting the M12s before I read about this one a little more. How long will the LRP or protek lipo last with it?

I can go a few days off a charge. Simple enough to charge at home before hitting the track too

I may dump my new mt44, if so, I'll list a new protek battery for sale with only a few minutes of use to set end points on it.

I put a vape battery in mine, 3500mAH. The switch harness has the connectors you need, a little soldering needed.

Any specific reason on why you're dumping it?

Anyway, when I create the update folder, paste the MT-44.prg file in there and try to do the update firmware steps, it doesn't work. I'm trying to go from 1.01.13 to 1.01.18, I would assume it's a rollup and I don't have to do them sequentially .14,.15, etc... because I can't find .14 online. When I hit update firmware, an arrow flashes on the screen and that's it. No matter which firmware version I try.

would a single cell from a rx 2s pack fit? seems strange but i have a bunch of loose cells i rescued from various rx packs that had one cell go bad, or i had to open up cause the wires got messy. i have an lrp 2500mah that was fine but the wire broke off and i had to fix it. thinking i could make TWO 2500mah packs for this radio from it for zero dollars.

It could work. But then again u have to figure how to charge it up. The 18650 is cheap easy and simple. Good batteries on eBay $20-$25 for a set of 3 batteries. Good charger for 18650 batteries $25. I use a 18650 battery tray I got on eBay for $5.
