I got the speedpack 3300 mAh 8.4 V 7-cell Ni-MH battery at my local hobby shop. It looks like the battery goes in the center of the car but it doesn't quiet fit. Do I need a different kind of battery or something since the car is much older?

is there divider towards the back of the battery tray.. If so that can be removed and your battery should fit.. Not sure what the prober name for the "divider" is but I had one in my b4.2 but I was running Shorty's .so no problem..

If it's a flat 7 cell nimh pack it probably won't fit in a 2wd buggy. Many trucks are longer and some can hold the 7 cell flat pack. Need either a 6 cell nickel pack or a 7 cell hump pack. A hump pack has the 7th cell sitting on top of the others, and may require a battery strap or whatever modification to clear it.

I will go back to my hobby shop and see if they can get me a battery that will fit. My friend gave me the car. It already has a receiver in it. He found an old controller the other day and gave that to me as well. He's not sure if that controller is for that car. The controller and receiver are both the same brand so how would I figure out if they work for each other?
