I'm trying to charge my MERV's 3s LiPo pack but as soon as I connect the balance lead, it gives me a "High Voltage" warning, then I tried again and it started charging the pack then after a minute I got a "Line Interruption" warning, I was just using the pack 2 days ago and it was fine , any suggestions?, I'm using a Traxxas 3s pack for the MERV, and my charger is a HP Activator 50 Multi Chemistry charger/cycler , also I got the charger from a friend and I can't seem to find a manual anywhere

Switch to the voltage per cell monitor go see if it recognizes all the cell of the battery.

If it sees all cell and all at or under 4.20 but above 3.20

Could be bad wires or bad battery.

Personally I don't mess with batteries, if it dong work send it back, AtomiKRC just replaced a 3s Venom pack on warranty. I didn't even send them the battery, just needed proof of purchase and a pic of the battery submerged in salt water to discharge it.

Hey guy I’ve recently had a ‘high voltage’ block from charging my battery on my Losi charger, we messed up. My buddy took the battery out of my new truck I bought from him n went to charge it n he charged it on either nimh or nicd to like an hour but the battery was fine when we realized. I just tried to charge the battery and it said hi voltage n stopped me. I know how to fix low voltage lipos by using nimh but high voltage is killing me. Should I try n discharge it on some kind of setting or will I burn my house down?

Try draining it a bit by driving the car.

I just looked again and n it said over voltage but still won’t charge after 3 minutes. Gonna go longer

Meassure the voltage of the cells with a voltmeter.

You are sure the charger is set to the right program? As you do not have the manual it looks to me you have to select the right settings first.

There is def some weird stuff that went on in my charger but I reset it to 7.4threw my 4 cell 14.8. When I started my charger n went to 2 cell it was stuck on 6-9 and I couldn’t adjust it to 7.4 for some reason but when I went to my starter box 4 cell 14.8 and decreased it to 2 cell it went back normal 7.4 n I started charging batteries till this last one.

Honestly I think he fried this battery. I put it in discharge last night for n hour on nimh and nicd n when I went to charge on lipoid still had the over voltage block, I don’t no how to take it down from 8.63, other batteries were under 5 so I did the low voltage nimh trick to get them over 6 and then lipo to continue charging them but like I said I don’t no any tricks for an over voltage. On YouTube there’s a million videos to fix low voltage and 0 for over voltage, this makes me think it’s not something ppl normally can fix, maybe I just got lucky n this battery didn’t explode.

Should I worry about this battery in the house n just throw it away? Can any of those batteries that went low voltage catch fire or are they safe? I’ve done the nimh trick n never had one catch fire but this over voltage one has me nervous. All these lipos make me nervous.

If the battery is actually at 8.63V then it's already charged and you can't charge it anymore. Stick it in the car and drive it for 5 minutes or so.

But I find it hard to believe it's still at that voltage after you had it on discharge for over an hour. Use a multimeter to check each individual cell voltage.

It did charge on nimh or nicd for at least an hour when my buddy had it on his charger, since then it’s been like this. What your saying is I the lipo battery fully charged on nimh in that hour n I should just use the battery a little bit? I realize I do this at my own risk. Will I be able to charge it like normal after? Honestly last night I was back n fourth on the nimh discharge, 5 minutes on 2 times n one other time a little longer. I will try it tomorrow in the street in a practice car I guess.
