Default Wiring

I broke the wire running from my
Orca esc to the capacitor. It is 18ga. Can i use 18ga hookup wire from radio shack to resolder a length on to the capacitor wire? Wasn't sure if "hookup wire" was the same thing as the wire that was on it.
