My MMAX escs have been great and they are well over a year old... I had issue with one that customer service took care quickly. Just some positive feedback for ya'll. An the newest software is great too, it seemed to help me squeeze out a bit more power in my stock buggy.

When I enable the ESC temp saftey, the ESC stops working. I believe I had it on 200°F. I don't use the motor temp, it's disabled. I don't know if an R1 wurks motor cause the issue.

The R1 motors are known for having issues with the sensor boards, so more likely a false reading from the motor. Disable the motor temp cut off and monitor manually

The motor makes sense but not the ESC temp cut off.

RsA89 - there are multiple variables involved, like what car, motor, set up, etc... Can you PM me with some more details, so it would be easier to answer. Also note that what ever setting you set cut off at, the internal temps are much higher than anything you would measure on the outside. I typically have my esc cut off at 220, for all my vehicles, but there are some that can push that depending on different factors. Shoot me a PM.

What settings did you like for stock?

I have the 6000mah Lipo as well as some other lipos that are in a similar range from Promatch. In general I use the maclan one for my stock buggy in the mains as I like the power it provides as using my icharger it appears to have the lowest resistance of my packs. The promatch's though are no slouch, so give a good comparison point.

I am interested in trying a one of the LCG lipos for some configuration changes.

Slightly biased (just to note up front). Mine have been great since first started using. Only actually balanced charged them once or twice in 7-8 months of use (I lost track of the time). They have provided more power than I can drive at times (old man hands - haaha). The option to flip the battery over so + and - line up the way you want is awesome!! They were way better than some brands that advertise they are powerful.

What final drive ratios are you running in your 17.5 2wd buggies on indoor clay? I’m running the MRR Team Edition motor in my B6 currently running 29/69 gearing for an FDR of 6.18:1. My motor temps are running at 150f with no fan. The motor timing is at 48deg pulling 4.9 amps. I’m just trying to see if anyone is running a set up that is radically different. Some guys at the track were running much higher gearing (27/75) and had cars that were faster than mine (they are running LiHV batts and I’m not). Thanks.

I would just throw a fan on there and gear it up. These motors seem to like more gearing than others like the R1 and Tekin spec-r. I'm running 30/72 right now on my eb210 conversion and I intend to go up a couple of teeth on my next outing this weekend.

I've had no problems with my Mmax Pico , TE V2 21.5 and 3600mAh in my Associated F6 F1 car, except or the fact that my Maclan setup is way faster than my Gforce setup, to the point that I have to learn how to drive it better!!
Loving it 👌

..anyone tried the Maclan batteries?
Looking at the 7.6hv stick packs. I've loved Reedy Zappers, they noticeably put out more power than any other battery I've tried. The new Maclan's are rated at 120c output whereas the Zappers are 110c (yet I know I can't put a ton of stock into these manufacturer claims) ... yet still curious.

thanks,

thanks,
I've tried both and if you like your zappers I would just keep them. the Maclan is very good too but the zappers were also very good when I used them so unless you're zappers are losing punch I would run them until they fade. Then if you want to try a new set then the Maclan at least wont hold you back.

Has anyone seen the latest Nick Adams video reviewing the MMAX esc on youtube?

Very biased review IMO, he sets his Hobbywings at 1khz brake frequency then the MMAX at 6.4khz and says the Maclan has "bad brakes"

Don't get me wrong a lot of his videos are interesting, but a lot are misinformation (ie setting optimal timing to 6A unloaded?)
