Default Pit Charger for Lipos

I currently have an older venom pro charger plus with the separate power supply and I want to get something else to use in the pits. I was told chargers with internal power supplies will burn out. Is that true or are they just as reliable as the externals.
What is a good charger to get without spending much? I don't need a lot of fancy crap. Just charge and storage is really all I need and I would like to be able to charge at a minimum of 6.5Amps. It would be nice to be able to charge 2 packs at once but not required. I saw a Tenergy charger that was pretty cheap and could do 10amps, is that a decent company? There is also the Team orion Advantage touch I found on here for sale pretty cheap but I read the Duos had a lot of problems. Any advise on this is appreciated.

I've had good luck with the Hitec charger, been using about 3 years with no issues. There is a single port or dual port if you don't need 4 ports.

I have had my Hyperion 720i AC/DC charger for some time. Hasn't burned out yet and works very well. Haven't needed to charge two batteries at once yet.
They have a model that does two batteries at once, don't think it is AC/DC though.

I have had great luck with my PowerLabs 6 charger. I also have a Hitec 4 channel that I use for my radio battery, glow igniters, RX packs.

A genuine Imax B6AC is a good no frills charger, which has an integral p/s and can be used with AC/DC input power. I have had one for about 3 years without any probs.

The only worth thing is noisy
The rest is perfect

I too wanted to downsize my charger system for race days. I was using a Hyperion with dual power supplies in a nice case (weighs 30 lbs lol).
I bought a ProTek Prodigy Touch 680 AC / 8amp charger from A-main a few weeks ago. Light weight, simple to use and works great.
Note, currently on sale.

Thanks for the input guys. I Almost got the protek prodigy but needed up getting the hitec x2 400 and trak power 25amp supply. But I now have a couple more questions.
1. The x2 400 says to use a min 60 amp supply but a lot of ppl just use 25-30amp. In the manual it says use the min 60 or could damage the charger. Is this true? I haven't heard of any issues using a 25amp.
2. Capacity cutoff setting. Can I just shut this off? Or do I need to change the setting for every battery I use? Right now it is set at 5,000 mah but my batts are 5600, 6000 and 6500mah. I thought as long as I have the max cell voltage set to 4.2volts it will be fine. Any advise?
3. I have the trackstar rechargeable put light which has a 1s 2600mah lipo so I can plug it right into my charger. But it doesn't have a balance plug on it so how does the charger know when to stop charging it? I left it on charger for an hour earlier
And it hadn't shut off. All my 2s lipos charged fully in like 30 min.

1. I don't know about damaging the charger, but maxing out your power supply constantly may reduce its longevity.

2. Should be safe not using a capacity limit if you've got a voltage and time limit set.

3. It's one cell so there's nothing to balance. The battery will be done when it reaches 4.2 volts.

Yea I thought the same thing. So I had the piwer at about 15 volts instead of 18 which is the max. We'll see what happens I guess. I wouldn't think that using less amps would damage but rather using more than 60amps

Ok, I just wasn't sure why this setting even exists. But I'm going to shut it off.

This is what I thought but it was still charging (only at .3amp) after 55 min. Just made me wonder cause all my other batteries were charged after 25 min about. But ok. I makes sense what you said.
