Default Mamba Max Pro Calibration Issues

Hey y'all, I'm having some issues getting my mamba max pro esc to go into calibration mode. I'm trying to program the esc using my transmitter (Futaba 3PL). I'm using a lipo pack that I just charged not too long ago and the servo is working, so I know it's neither a battery nor a signal issue between the transmitter and receiver.

I actually got it to enter calibration mode a few times, but I started over since I was messing up. Now when I turn on the esc, the beeping sounds it usually makes don't even happen. I've looked all over for any troubleshooting tips but haven't found anything that has resolved the issue.

Any advice? Thanks

Make sure your lipo pack in the car is actually good/charged, not a pack you charged a while ago and let sit and also make sure the receiver plug from the ESC to the RX is plugged in correctly, i.e. correct polarity on the correct channel (ch2).

futaba needs the throttle reversed to calibrate correctly. try that.

Are you talking about trying to calibrate your Tx to the ESC or trying to program the ESC with your Tx? If you're trying to program, just get the Castle programmer and use a laptop.

You also need it to get full power out of the esc. Among other things. ( to get out of smart sense, or if it's legal open timing.)

First thing first,

Bind your TX & RX w/o steering and ESC connected.

Connect Steering and ESC

Set all trims to 12 o'clock and EPA to 100%

Calibrate RX to ESC, Neutral, Full Throttle, Braking. Confirm by Beeps or LED's

Check functions of all steering and ESC

Important with Brushless motors.

All steps is before you use your programming card. PG is the last thing to be used.

No the first thing you need to do is install 1.26 firmware. Most all others do not work properly. Some of the esc's will not work at all most just corrupt regularly. It is the only legal one. Been using these esc's since they came out Not a nube.

Not trying to argue try what geezatec said & if that does not work you need to get the link

No argument TOM. Even with the old software it'll work. Once you get it to operate, DL new software, you'll have to do a re calibration. and program card again.

It took me almost an hour to calibrate my MM the other night. I changed TX and RX and it changed some settings in the esc. Maybe the software crashed I don’t know. I ended up hooking to my tablet through the field link and redoing it after calibration. I always update to the newest and greatest firmware. The Castle Link software sometimes won't let you adjust anything until you update sometimes.

This helped me along time ago.

Thanks, we run them in oval & on-road. It seems some of the new esc's will not work at all with anything 1.30 & above.

I hear ya. They only have one roar approved firmware. You would think that is what would come in their racing esc's. I've talked to them. They deny any problem with any firmware. Yet I have 3 out of 4 MMP's that are dead with anything above 1.30.
In blinky the other thing is to change from smart sense to sensored only, sensors required.

Thanks, I agree they have very little in instructions

Creation and Tekins still neck to neck. I'm more a Tekins guy. Tekins let you go back in ware. 213 & 233. Run them all Novak & Tekins. Creation didn't notion of running! Last 5 years I'd assemble models for ppl, They wanted it. It just never tickled my fancy!! lol!! To each his own.

Ok, still having a problem with the calibration not detecting full reverse/break.

Basically its like the ESC just hangs with the red light flashing and beeping. No matter what I do with regards to changing settings, trying various firmwares, reversing my channels, etc it just will not accept a reverse signal.

My radio is a DX4R, my RX is a SRS4210 scavenged from a mini 8ight where it was working perfectly. So it's not the RX, and the TX works on the mini and in VRC-pro.

Besides waiting until Monday to call Castle Creations, anybody got any recommendations to fix this ESC not catching the reverse signal during calibration? btw it catches the throttle just fine and give the 4 beeps, then just doesnt seem to read anything after going into searching for the full reverse signal.

Thanks.

Thumbs up Found solution for Mamba Max Pro and Spektrum SRS4210 calibration issue

Solved.

Using a Spektrum SRS4210 with AVC. You cannot calibrate any ESC until you calibrate the AVC receiver.

The solution was found at Tekin's website.

Here is the link:
Unforunately I have not reached the amount of posts needed to post the link. Just PM me.

Alternatively you can use the search terms "spektrum tekin calibration" in google
