I received mine today that I had pre ordered from Tower. I haven't really messed with it as I have been building my RC8T3E that also came today from AE but this radio just straight up looks hella sweet! Upgrading from a 4PKS its like going from a Pinto to a Cadillac!!

Also noticed the lightest wheel tension is a lot stiffer than the lightest tension for 4pksr. But I got it to be soft enough and just adjusted to it.

I didn't need the chrome and just bought a 4px. Does installing new software make the 4px faster? If so, does anyone know how to do this?

Got mine yesterday. Wow is it nice. The last new Futaba I bought was a 3pj in 2001. Yes, it came loaded with the latest software update and Race mode.

Is anyone noticing a difference in race mode with the software upgrade? Coming from 4px, or more importantly, I'm coming from a 4pksr and would like to know what to expect. thanks very much in advance.

The radio does indeed feel slightly more connected than 4pksr. I can barely feel the difference but it is definitely there. The jump is pretty small compared to when I went from 3pm to 4pksr though.

Yes there is some slight difference when you upgrade to race mode with telemetry off in the 4PX. More noticeable with a faster servo of course.

I put in an order for the M12S from Tower a couple of weeks ago while it was on a backorder status. I got an email last week that it will no longer be produced. Tower site shows it to be discontinued now.

There must be a new model coming out that will supersede the M12S real soon and maybe supersede the 4PX(R).

Now I'm just going to sit back and wait. I might just snatch a cheapo for now.

Please clarify. Is the Sanwa M12S the same as Airtronics M12S? Or did Sanwa buy out Airtronics?

So are we assuming that Sanwa will continue to manufacture the M12S? Or is it a fact?

Sanwa has been around for a long time and sold as Sanwa in Asia but as Airtronics in North America. Kinda like HoBoa / HongNor is OFNA in North America.

Tower probably indicated it as "discontiued" because of the distributor no longer getting Airtronics stock. Not sure who will be distributing Sanwa in NA. I'm sure given some time that the M12s will be available again
