+1. Had mine for about 5 years now. The Hakko is a good one as well.

it is, and the digital hakko is pretty close to that price range. Trakpower has a new digital station that looks pretty good also

When I got into RC 14 years ago and started looking for a replacement, I found out that Ungar was bought out by Weller. So I started looking for something equivalent in the Weller line. I now use a Weller 4033S heater in my old Ungar handle. It is 45 watts and has a 1000 F rated tip temperature. Yes One Thousand degrees F.
I used all that heat back in the day soldering battery bars to build NiCD and NiMH packs. When I don't feel the need for quite that much power, I run it through the base that comes with the WLC-40 kit. It has a knob to turn the heat down. It is not a fancy electronic temperature control, but it does the job.
I have seen people using Hakkos and the like and none of the results I've seen compare to what I can do with the 4033S. It has a much bigger chisel tip than can be accommodated on a Hakko. There is plenty of heat capacity on that tip for 10 gauge and even 8 gauge wire.

I like my Goot PX201. Awesome soldering iron. It's like soldering station, but compact and light. Thermal control, replacement tips, 75W (i'm soldering 8-9mm connector, T-dins, 1/8 motor and other), heat cup, lead-free compatible. All-time in my pitbag
