Trinity D4 17.5

I hate to sound like a broken record but you guys are not comparing apples to apples here. All of the motors you are using for comparison use a 12.5mm rotor. From day 1 I have recomended using the 12.5mm rotor because of its performance advantage. Why do you think a 13mm rotor is not ROAR legal? Anyone who is familiar with the Trinity line of motors knows that they always offer a "Maxzilla" version of every motor and the D4 will be no different. This will include a 12.5mm ht rotor. I know from my testing that the D4 will be the fastest coolest running motor on the track.

I ran a Certified Killshot RPM stator with the teal rotor geared 27/70. Now with the D4 im at 30/70 and still not getting as hot as my Killshot after 5 min.

Its cool though. I see it uses the middle sleeve so its part of the motor

yeah, I figured. The water fall/center brace they use makes it hard to get a fan on. Waiting for someone to start making replacement water falls that are made to include fans.

There was a guy making the Waterfall brace with a fan mount search that Mid Motor thread if you really want one. I run without it

For those that have been able run this motor, what is a good starting point for timing? Mine seems to be set to 30 out of the box. Should it be at 50 or 60?
I started at 50* but went up to 57* on my 22 buggy I was geared 70/35 but I'm going down to 34T Pinion this weekend to find the sweet spot.
Its fast on top already so I want to gear between the corners and for torque to be able to pop over jumps with less effort. The motor runs so cool. It was 90* outside and motor got to 130* max
I run outdoor Loose track Med/large layout.
Thanks
