Race Mode is a mode in the transmitter that frees up some of the processor usage that is not being used by most race set ups and is able to use that towards less latency. Less latency = faster response time.

I was forced to try this radio out that I have had sitting for quite some time last weekend. Felt good in my hand, fairly easy to setup. Installed the drop down after using it stock at first. It was real comfortable after coming from the dx4r.

I've heard from a few folks that this radio has an issue with disconnecting while running, and reconnecting again. Anyone else seen this? I know that was an issue when it was very first released, but an update had corrected that.

I'm trying to decide weather to run this, or my MT4s....As I need to purchase RX's for either of them.

i like this radio very much, but i think it comes to personal preference. I have not had any disconnect issues and i have had the radio since it was released.

Anyone noticed high latency in a receiver? It's odd because it's only 1, I have 3 in 3 different cars. All are bound the same way, all have savox servos and hobbywing esc's. The one in my 1/8 scale is noticeably slow to respond to input from either throttle or steering. I've rebound it and nothing changed. I'll replace it if needed but it's just an odd problem that seemed to start from nowhere.

Are all of the receivers the same? The Axion2 receiver is the fastest of the bunch, followed by the Axion 4 and Proton 4 which is about 3-11mS slower depending on which mode you are in. So if you are using the Axion 4 with digital servos, make sure that you have your radio set for the higher frame rates. Same would apply to the Proton.

I have 2 4s and 1 2. While I can perceive a difference in the 4 and 2 it's so insignificant I chalk it up to me knowing it's supposed to be faster. The difference between one of the 4's and the other however is so blatant that Ray Charles would notice.

Not real sure what the issue is, not that worried about it. A replacement receiver is cheap enough and I love the radio. Just wondered if anyone else had a similar issue.

You do carry a 2 year warranty on that receiver, send it in to us and we will get you taken care of. Visit HITEC RCD USA and fill out the service request form to send in with the receiver.

Thanks Billy, I'll do that. I ordered another axion 2 from Amain today so I get that one pulled out and send it in when I get back from work.
