Should be ok here. Why on top of the servo tho? Are you really tight on space?

What vehicle are you putting it in ? Anywhere is ok as long as you have some decent airflow.

i have the space but I just want to get it higher up so as to help with dirt and debris. its in a dirt oval car that will run on clay. the chassis is carbon fiber and has all sorts of openings (for weight i would guess). the clay and dirt get pushed up from underneath so just want to keep the esc safe.

I would think low weight placement/center of gravity would be important in oval? Perhaps make a shield with a piece of lexan under the ESC to cover some of the gaps and protect it?

Dirt isn't going to hurt the esc. I agree with Dave H, mount it low to keep the CoG low.

The last two replies are what I'm thinking. Tell us what car it is or post a pic. You will get better answers.
