Default Negative battery lead getting hot.

Hey guys im having an issue in my 4x4 sc trucks. both of them are getting the neg wire at the battery really hot. i use solid bullets on everything, (no bird cages here) and im actually melting the battery cases around the neg port. im not running anything huge motor wise 120a speedo with a 4000k 4 pole in one and in the other im running the rtr ae speedo and 3500k reedy motor in the prolite. im not really sure what is happening here. running 5900 60c 2s packs in both. the prolite got hot enough saturday to unsolder the lead from the bullet.

is there anything i can add to the setups to help this or????

Iv'e seen cases get hot and melt due to faulty/loose bullet plugs arcing inside the pack, i'm pretty sure that's what you have going on.

Could either be caused by the bullet not being tight enough when connected or it could be a bad connection inside the battery. Either way there is something causing major resistance.

Have you tried different batteries?

thats what i thought too, but i bought new packs and new bullets and it did it again on the first heat race, in the much lighter prolite. i thought i was heating them up because my scte is a fat an heavy truck. so of course ive been racing the lighter truck thinking i was just asking too much from the batteries.

i even tweeked the bullets open a bit to tighten them in the batt. ports.

12-14. that was my next thought but the resistance seems to be at the bullet/socket and only/always on the neg side. now i know electricity flows from neg to pos (look it up) so my only/last thought is drawing too much from the battery.

Need new connectors and to clean out your battery tubes. Also check out all your solder joints.

Happening on multiple cars and with varied equipment... yea I'd go back to the basics.
