Op, if you try these and they do heat up on you, PM me and I'll buy them from you for what ever you paid and I'll pay shipping to me. I'm going to build a new sub-woofer enclosure for my wife's SUV soon and I can use them there, or in some other future project.

I always like seeing how others have there pit boxes.
good luck in finding it! |
thanks. i'm looking to build it again. i've found some other options for the power panel and soldering station mounting. i'll be sure to post info about the PSU in a toolbox V2 lol

Too soon? Sorry, just couldn't resist.
I was down in Huntsville over Thanksgiving and stopped by Hobby Barn. They had some panel mount binding posts labeled as 50 Amps. I grabbed 2 sets for $6 a pair. If you still need some you might give them a call. |

If you still need some you might give them a call. 50A? That's awesome. Can you post some pictures? Also, do you know which brand and model they are by chance? I'd consider ordering them. I was only able to find some nice and heavy ones rated for 20A |
The packaging is pretty generic. I'll snap a couple pics and post them though. When I google search "50 amp binding post", I get quite a few results. Looks like Hobby King has these same posts.
Or, for $13, you could probably run 150 amps through these posts without them heating up. |
The posts below are rated for 60 amps. Probably less chance of accidentally shorting them together than the ones I posted above too.

could have used an outdoor keystone setup for it, so it would be protected or countersunk into the toolbox kinda like this with the bananas http://www.orderofgarpike.com/_media/media_box.jpg or http://cache.smarthome.com/images/36523big.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps3eafc5c6.jpg |
If you're really set on using keystone panels, you could use something like this panel frame from Amazon
When I search for "inset keystone panel" or "inset low voltage panel" there seems to be some stuff out there. Depending on the tools you have available, it might be easier to build your own inset panel. Below is what I did with the binding posts on a custom fiberglass sub-woofer enclosure I built for my car. It wouldn't be very hard to inset your posts like that using MDF or something. http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/...ps93379c97.jpg |
