i appreciate the offer. nothing in my setup (psu, wires, solder joints, binding posts, ect) gets over 85 degrees...so i am going to stay with my current binding posts. at least until i get more/different batteries so i can use all of my charger. current i can only charge at 20A.

bump

hey guys. my pit box fell out of my truck on November 28th. Someone picked it up in the 5 minutes it took me to turn around at the next stop light. if you see it or any of the stuff for sale or at the track ect...please let me know. I have a reward for its return.

Pit Box V2 coming soon. Stay Tuned.

ill be adding a 6 port keystone wall plate to the box this time. it will have positive, negative binding posts, a usb port...and i will have room for one more thing. i might put two usb ports.

do you have any suggestions for this build?

Too soon? Sorry, just couldn't resist.

I was down in Huntsville over Thanksgiving and stopped by Hobby Barn. They had some panel mount binding posts labeled as 50 Amps. I grabbed 2 sets for $6 a pair. If you still need some you might give them a call.

50A? That's awesome. Can you post some pictures? Also, do you know which brand and model they are by chance? I'd consider ordering them. I was only able to find some nice and heavy ones rated for 20A

iScream 12-05-2014 03:08 PM

The packaging is pretty generic. I'll snap a couple pics and post them though. When I google search "50 amp binding post", I get quite a few results. Looks like Hobby King has these same posts.

Or, for $13, you could probably run 150 amps through these posts without them heating up.

The posts below are rated for 60 amps. Probably less chance of accidentally shorting them together than the ones I posted above too.

could have used an outdoor keystone setup for it, so it would be protected or countersunk into the toolbox
kinda like this with the bananas

If you're really set on using keystone panels, you could use something like this panel frame from Amazon

When I search for "inset keystone panel" or "inset low voltage panel" there seems to be some stuff out there.

Depending on the tools you have available, it might be easier to build your own inset panel. Below is what I did with the binding posts on a custom fiberglass sub-woofer enclosure I built for my car. It wouldn't be very hard to inset your posts like that using MDF or something.
