Default power vs KV

Hello guys,
I was looking at some of the more powerfull motors and I noticed one thing.

If I take LRP, their most powerful currently sold motor is 4.0t x 20 with 650+watts and 8900kv. Their former x12 3.5t octa-wind was capable of ~710watts and 9800kv. Why this change? any practical issues w 3.5?

and to continue, if I take tekin or viper or speed passion,... they produce 2.5t motors, with crazy RPM, like ~11000 KV, but their power is somehow lower, comparable to ~1-1.5turn lower LRP motors. why is that? and which are going to be more powerful? Is not that super high rpm rather useless if it lacks power output?

I want to buy sth really powerful for my car, but looking at those LRPs, which are available here where I live, it seems that they do have the power, but lack rpm, compared to those lowest turns motors, which LRP do not even produce.

Power is a factor of how much energy the motor can consume/torque generated regardless of how many RPM it will develop.

KV is a measurement of the electrical limitations of how fast the windings can energize & collapse the EM field & is expressed in RPM per Volt or "KV".

Power & KV are more critical if you are in a spec class.
If you are in an open/mod class then it is limited to your driving & power needs.

Quality, Performance, Price... pick two

Sounds like you are looking to do speed runs or bashing?
The 3.5 motors tend to be made for 1s (3.87 volt) setups, they can be run on 2s but run the risk of smoking ESC's & overheat motors if not geared correctly.
The best motor depends on application & rules for a particular racing class.

What are you trying to do?

well, I ve already made up my mind, but still the question is interesting, thank you for the provided answer

well, now do not laugh at me please , I have a b4.1 it used to have 6.5t, but was geared pretty low, so if was a bit too hot and lacked power on acceleration. But I really enjoyed the fact that it could do over 80 kph. Then I decided to make it also usable for offroad - have acceleration etc, but I did not want to give up its ability to blow mind of most of the people when pressing the throttle hard so I bought 4.5t lrp octa-wind, when geared for off road, it still goes those ~80, but accelerates amazingly, runs cool. We tried a top speed run this week with different gearing, we really wanted to break 100kph, but (hopefully only) due to people on the runway and signal issues, we ended up at 94 (just one attempt). I was not sure if we can find those 6kph or not, so I was actually thinking about geting something on complete top of the power (in fact, I really enjoy overpowered motor, brutal acceleration from zero to really high speed,..even though it makes no sense for racing, it amazes me and others too). But I will probably stay with my 4.5, add one more tooth to pinion and find better time to use the runway and I hope it will work out. Its a litte project of me and my friend
