Hey guys I was wondering if a Buggy servo could have too much torque?
This SAVOX SC-1268MG servo is the only one in our local hobby shop is it OK for a steering servo for a losi 22? thanks.

It'll be fine, just make sure your EPA ( end point adjustment) is set correctly

That servo is more than plenty. Just be aware that those Savox servos are power hogs and can sometimes cause brown outs,especially used with spektrum receivers. Might have to run a capacitor. The best buggy servo IMO is the Radiopost blue speed servo or the Spektrum s6040.

Sweet thanks guys, I would get a faster servo with less crazy strength but its the only servo available on out local nz site trade me. So this will be all good for a buggy, I guess you can't have too much strength

Also ATM I'm using a old am receiver nothing special its linked with a castle creations sidewinder 3 would you have any idea if power will be an issue

The castle esc BECs are renowned for being a bit poor so you'll probably need to run at least a cap if not an external BEC to be sure of no brown outs.

Note That That Servo Is (HIGH VOLTAGE) And I Will Recommend You Either Savox 1256,1257 Or 1258 Servos For A Good Performance. You Could Find It At (A Main Hobbies)

it is batter to have too much torque and speed, rather than too little. Just adjust the endpoints on the radio, and you should be fine.

too much TQ is ok if you set the endpoint correctly, but having too much speed can make the car feel twitchy and unstable.

Oh yeah. On most radios they give you a option to turn down the servo speed though. If not on yours, then go for a slower servo. On a buggy don't go slower than about .18 seconds, slower than that and the car cant make corrections fast enough to be a good racer.

I have decided to go with the 1258TG to suite my car more.

With a sidewinder 3 and this servo does anyone know if it will be OK without a external BEC or will it just not work.

I would say its likely you'll need a bec, the CC speedo's have a weak internal bec and savox servos are known to pull upwards of 5amps, with an AM radio I can see that causing issues and interference.

I was using literally that exact same combo in one of my basher cars....and i needed a receiver cap.
