I picked up an ASUS Eee Tablet (model tf101) from one of the IT guys here at work. I wanted something better than the cheapo models from Wal-Mart.

Downloaded the app, and hooked up my Gen-1 Hotwire.....no problems at all connecting and changing settings on either of the two RX8-Gen 2 ESC's that I have.

I'd still prefer it if this app worked on my iPhone, but getting a tablet that retailed at $450 for $85, and I can use it for more than just RC stuff, takes some of the sting out of it.
Perfect, tablet added to our list. Thanks.

Hotwire is female mini so you would need male mini to male micro... shorter the better.
Or female USB to micro male if your using the supplied cable, two ways to do it.
Hotwire comes with the male mini to male full size USB to hook up to laptop/notebook.

For older droids, hook up lipo, turn on ESC, connect hotwire.
Thanks, yes OTG cable on the way, if that works I'll try for the mini to micro USB to avoid the larger cable. Good to know on the power up, concern was what if I forgot my esc was powered on and used the tracks 1.0 which is hooked to their computer ?
BTW Moto Razr xt910 says it supports OTG, we'll see next week.

1. Download the App
2. Hook up the Hotwire to the esc and OTG cable.
3. Plug in the Hotwire/OTG to your device.(Note the first time a prompt will come up asking if you want future plug ins to automatically launch the app, click yes)
4. Launch the App.

Simple.

To test your device OTG abilities I've found it best to load a video file and or audio file onto a USB thumb/jump drive. Plug that into the OTG and then into your device. IF you can play the files from the drive...you should be good to go. IF not your device may not support OTG.
Thanks Randy, yep an over thinker and still manage to screw things up
OTG cable on the way, we'll know next week.

Ok, what esc are you using? Did you just flash the esc to new software? Did you make sure "RPM" is checked off in the data logger?

Using the RS2 Esc. The software was flashed a little while back with 249 but only ran it for the first time. Don't know if RPM was ticked, will try again and see how it goes.

It works on my Sprint LG G2. Do you have the latest update (250) in the speedo? You will need to upgrade on the computer first if you do not. Make sure you plug the hotwire into the speedo before you plug into the phone. Then it should launch or ask if you want to launch the app.

Not sure about your specific droid but try powering the ESC with the lipo. Worth a shot.

Maybe someone else has a gem of info but in its absence sometimes removing programs and reloading works things out.
Try remove app and install it again. Still doesn't work? Try remove the hotwire software and download it again. Hard reset on ESC and update ESC.
I assume your on the 250 firmware already.
