hotwire 1.0 you need an otg cable not an adapter.
Hotwire 2.0 your adapter should be fine.
what do you have?

The phone should power the hotwire and esc.

Note 3 and hot wire 2.0. Works great! I got the Samsung white adapter at best buy. $19 bucks but I can use it for other stuff now too.

didn't work at first while the app tried to connect. program actually crashed... unplugged hotwire and relaunched the app. runs perfect now. I checked the "remember this usb controller (or something)" box that came up.

As soon as i plug the hotwire into my phone the app launches immediately.

Yep, when I first plugged in it would not connect and I think closed on its own like you said.
Plugged back in and it connected. Pop up asked about remembering USB, checked... worked.
Now as soon as I plug in the otg the app launches. $1.70 all in otg from china.

I do have to power the ESC with the lipo, I use my bionic phone. Maybe tablets and newer phones have the muscle to power the ESC but mine needs assistance.

How do I know if I have the hotwire 1.0 or 2.0?

Hotwire 2.0 has a white case, 1.0 is black case.

Im loving this new app, Im using my Motorola Moto x with a miniusb - usb adapter i bought off amazon for like 90 cents from china, took 3 weeks to get it but worth the wait.

The only issue i have been having with this is my aftermarket motor fan starts spinning when i plug the hotwire into my phone or tablet and draws to much power from the hotwire/phone it freezes on boot up of the app.

So if you notice your app crashing or starting up and staying on a black screen unplug any unnecessary add-ons that could be drawing power from your phone.

Have you tried running the app with the lipo plugged in? That would be easier than unplugging stuff from the esc

I used the app for the first time tonight at the track and it worked great the first time. I went back to make a change and when I went to change settings the settings were all changed from what I had put on originally. So I unplugged and restarted app and it read weird again. I changed settings and Hit apply . Shut the app down and unplugged. Plugged back in and the app started same thing all settings were different again.

Sad part is I was not able to test the car as I made it 8 seconds in and a 1\8th scale buggy missed a jump and ended my night.

Phone is a s4 4.3 tekin rs gen 1 with gen 1 hotwire. Anyone have this issue or know what would cause this? I will check on my home computer and see if the settings read the same tomorrow.

Once you hit apply did you let the the app finish making the change? Did it finish loading? Maybe you unplugged it to fast?

You could also not be connecting and in demo mode. Does it say demo mode in the top left of the screen? Or does it show your android version?

I haven't seen that. But I can recommend making sure your RS Pro is on 223. If i is, do a factory reset on the unit to clear any and all memory. Install your setup, apply settings. Verify it's all good from there.

Mine won't recognize that Hotwire is connected on PC or my Phone.

Tried on my Windows 7 PC using Hotwire 2.0 with a Gen1 RS with no luck. Used the help guides to reinstall Hotwire and everything. No connection.

Then I tried on Galaxy S4 running 4.3 using Hotwire 2.0 with a Gen1 RS. Same stuff "Hotwire not connected." Tried with and w/o lipo plugged in. I don't get any lights on the Hotwire without a lipo plugged in.

Any suggestions? Next time at the track I am going to ask around.

Does it matter what Firmware is installed currently on my Gen1 RS?
