Quick question...I got my speed passion 17.5R motor in today (fast shipping!) and I noticed that there are no motor wires. What should I do about motor wires?

the esc didnt come with wires? Esc's normally come with wires. Motors normally come with sensor cables. Some esc's come with sensor wires and motor wires. FYI, my SP sensor wire was tooo short for my B4 or tlr22 in RM config. You might need a longer one. I cant remember if the just stock comes with a sensor wire, but it definitely should have wires for the motor.

Oh okay thanks. I haven't gotten the ESC in yet; just the motor. I'll wait until the ESC comes in then as well. The motor did come with a sensor wire yes. And it does look a little short...I'll have to see if the ESC comes with one.

Speed passion is big into onroad racing, I think that is why the sensor wire is so short. If your running a mid motor car, it might work fine. For rear motor, you will need longer.

even if the esc came with a sensor wire, I would order one up. Those thing are very prone to going bad. Plus, I really like the flat wire sensor cables.

Thanks guys! Which sensor wire would you guys recommend I get? There seems to be a bunch of sizes.

what kind of car/truck?

I really like these. Well made and easy to install nicely.

http://www.amainhobbies.com/advanced...atwire&x=0&y=0

For a b4/sc10/t4 I would get the 200mm and run it through the tower
For the TLR 22/22t/22sct I would get the 175mm one.

Longer is better than shorter. And its pretty easy you use a zip tie to take up the slap in a longer flat wire. Nothing you can do if its too short.

You can take a string and run it from the motor to where the esc is, then measure the distance in mm and then maybe add 20mm flex and mounting.

The truck its going to go in is a Stadium Truck (ECX Circuit). I'll do the string idea.

Thanks for the link! I'll have to see if the LHS has any of those so that I can get up and running sooner.

I just got my stuff from FalconSekido! It looks solid! Going to solder up some wires. Quick question...is heat shrink needed for motor wires?

I only use heat shrink on the power connectors. 4mm/deans. No real need on the motor side. Some people say to not put the tubing on the esc posts because it prevents cooling. Others like it to prevent a possible short.
