Default 1/8 Nitro servos

Looking for some top notch servos for 1/8 nitro buggy. Been out of the hobby quite some time. When I was racing the best they had was 105oz @.10sec. Now I see some standard servos capable of over 300+oz!!

Already purchased a Futaba 4PKS-R.. Should I just stick with Futaba servos? I've heard quite good things about Hitec and there customer support. Never heard of Savox before until reading up on things this past week.

Looking for some advise.. Do I really need 300+oz for a steering servo running 1/8 scale buggy? Do new brushless servos actually last and outperform regular servos?

Cheers,

Hitec servos do have great customer support. I am not sold on the Savox servo's. I have seen a few that created glitching issues in a car.
Anything over 200oz is fine in buggy.

What's recommended minimum torque for throttle and brake?

I am in the same position exactly been out of it for a while just picked up a buggy and trying to figure out what servos would be best for it. Any advice is greatly appreciated, I have read quite a bit of good things about HiTec but I am not sure what model and what I should be looking for other then metal gears.

I use either the Savox 1258tg or the 1268. Both the same servo with the difference being that the 68 is a high voltage version and so when driven at 7.2v it'll give you unbeliveable torque even at 6v it's over 200. I've had no problems with mine.
