My simple battery test is to look for discrepancies between the total voltage measured at the balance plugs and the voltage the charger is at while under a large charging load. Usually the current won't go to its maximum value.

Which charger are you using? My watt meter should be here next week?

A Robitronic Overloader. Discharges at 20A max and charges up to 8A,it's basically aimed at ni-xx charging.

well, I got my watt meter and used a couple chargers to verify if sees the same amp load. I then did no no load test with a 13.5 in my tlr22 with wheels on, 2.5 amps. Then I did several slipper test loads, 79amps peak. This weekend I will run some laps on the track and/or street to see what live racing load is. I was surprised to see the slipper load that high. I will assume the racing load will be less than the slipper test load.

I would not be surprised,I've seen a lot of dynos from brushed motors, amp draw is proportionally inverse to rpm,so it's high when close to 0 rpm and lower closer to maximum rpm, like torque and that's why you see crazy gearing thrown to 17.5T motors.
Max amp draw in a SCRT I had with a 5.5T motor was 200A,in a 2wd buggy with an 8.5T motor is 100A,so 79A for your setup is adequate
