The delayed reverse setting is setup so that once the ESC see's a neutral signal of a full 1 second then you can engage reverse. If you try to engage reverse before that one second, the clock restarts.

I must be hitting the throtle then :). Thanks for the update.

You can program the ESC to have instant reverse after the breaking, but that seems kind of dangerous to me so I've never used that setting myself.

Does any one know what plug / cable to plug a fan into the rs gen2 - all my plugs seem to big and don't stay connected. Any advice ?

Thanks - Mike

New to electric... I got a scte 2.0 can I run a rsx with a pro4 hd?

Too heavy, use the RX8 in a sct.

Does the fan run full time?

The RSX fan is set default to come on when the unit reaches an internal temp of around 125 degrees. You can set it to run always thru the hotwire.

for those of you who have the rsx in your 2wd buggy, what are some of the settings that you've changed and why? I've had 6 rs/rs pros and friends have always given advice as to which settings for each category. I guess im asking specifically about current limit and neutral width. I've always been told to drop the current limit to 85 and neutral width to 5-10. The neutral width is set at 25 from the factory.

I like a narrow NW so there's not a lot of slop between throttle & brake. Thats up to your radio though, some (most of spectrum's lineup) like to see around 10 to calibrate neutral. My airtronics lets me get down to 3... maybe lower, haven't tried.
I don't know why they set default to 25... maybe so it will calibrate with even the lowest end pos radio?

CL is a tuning tool to mellow out the initial throttle power. On a loose track you may want 50, on a carpet track you may want 100.
Try it to see the effect, try 50 (heck, try 20) and then 100. That's always the best thing to do, try the extremes of a setting to get a good idea of its effect. Someone else's setting may not be right for you even at the same track.
CL is not as important on a car with a slipper though... they both kind of accomplish the same thing. Just a different way of doing it.

thanks for the reply.

Now that you say the narrow neutral width helps with trigger response from forward to brake, I remember a friend of mine mentioning that when I first started a couple years ago.

I always took his advice and went right into the hotwire to set up the esc with a narrow neutral width.

Rsx and 8.5 tekin in sc10.199, fan or no? Indoor high bite clay.

jmkalt 08-29-2014 05:52 AM

Is there a way to purchase an additional plastic fan shroud? Mine broke and a couple of the screws and spacers were lost as well.

Should not need the fan ever with that setup.
