Default LRP FLOW funny behavior

I have an LRP Flow speedo that I just received, after plugging it in and getting it all wired up, I turned it on to do the initial set up and set the speed control. Once the first set up was done, I tested it out and it worked great. I then shut it off and turned it back on, when I did, it rev'd the motor up for about a half second then went to the neutral setting. I shut it off and turned it on and it did this again. The controller seems to work perfectly once it goes back to neutral, but when I first turn it on it wants to rev the motor.

does anyone know why this is happening or what I might change?

did you calibrate the esc to the radio?

What brand/model radio?

Some radio's have a very narrow deadband and the esc thinks they have some throttle when they are just centered
