I ordered my 1900 on Monday and should have this afternoon. I can't wait to get it wired up and mess with it. I'm curious as well to see how it does, since I have a Trophy Race this weekend.
This is replacing a used Tekin 1900 that I boght 4yrs ago and finally crapped out.

Awesome. Let me know how it works out cause I was planning on ordering one too.

The trophy race should be awesome. Sounds like a ton of people are going...I planned on attending but am scheduled to work now but I plan on going out there on Friday to check out the new track.

Good luck!

Most quality motors do :)

When will the 13.5's be back in stock?

snwchris 10-23-2014 09:19 AM

Got motor last night, very nice I like the dual sensor ports for the cable. Theres a port on top behind tabs and one in the end of the can. I wired it up and drove around house last night to make sure everything was working. I like the 4pole on the bottom end, so cant wait to see at track how it is.

So far feels good, I'm wondering though it felt like my car wasn't geared right.
With the Tekin Gen1 1900 it would balloon tires, with the SMC 1900 would only half balloon.... is this because of it being a 4pole motor. I'm wondering if I need to go up a gear tooth.

This weekend will be racing, so will find out Saturday morning during practice laps.

rcjunky1 10-23-2014 09:26 AM

all 1/8 motors are 4 pole, could be a gearing thing, or timing. Motor timing will give you more wheel speed with less torque. You can make a 17.5 have as much no load speed as a 6.5 with 0 timing

snwchris 10-23-2014 09:32 AM

Ahh, OK I didn't think the Gen1 were, I thought they were 2pole.
Like I said I'll try out on track Saturday and see how it does. I also did some diff maintenance on the Ebuggy at same time, so maybe with fresh diff fluids that might be why. The front was low and rear was empty.

Got my 1/8th scale motor today. Cant wait to race it this weekend.

Yea I ran it around outside for a quick run and man tons of rip on the bottom end, I can't wait to hit the track Saturday.

what gearing are you using?

snwchris 10-24-2014 05:57 AM

Its in a Tekno EB48.2, so right now 18/44, that what I had with the Tekin that was in there prior.

jkirkwood 10-24-2014 11:43 AM

The driver that tested the motor said he gears this 15/43 to 16/43 in his TLR 8ight depending on the track with zero timing on the motor. Not sure what ESC settings he uses. Maybe that helps you out a bit.
