Perfect.

Now are you hooking up the Hotwire to the esc via the servo lead or programming port on a Gen2 esc?

Ok, does the Hotwire light up with a single green led? Does your esc power up showing one red flickering led when connected to the Hotwire?

Hotwire-No lights
ESC-Far left led(DB) on steady if connected thru programming port
Center led (NW) if connected thru servo lead

No led's on the hotwire is odd. Did you 100% make sure it's fully seated onto the USB cable? The housing can be a tight fit and even at times require a trim.

If that's verified, your Hotwire may need repair/replacement.

Verified. Don't know if it's worth getting repaired or replacing it since it actually works except for the lights and speed type. I know what I have it plugged into. LOL. What do you guys charge for repair ? Thanks

Default ESC Type

While my Rx8 gen 2 is connected to the hotwire under the advance tab it shows esc type as unknown. If I connect gen 1 Rx8 or rs pro it shows what esc is connected. Nothing is wrong and works fine was just curious why type of esc is shown as unkown.

You need to updated your Hotwire software:

To verify:

Plug in ONLY the hotwire to your computer, no esc. Launch the software, hit the "help" button. The version should read 9.6.1 at the moment.
