Is it worth to add some timing when I lack speed on one straight on track? I am on 0 now, G2+t8 G2 1900kV in a 8ight 4.0 buggy. Temps are now moderate, 60-70*C

and add another layer of foam tape to secure the esc, or use velco.

That is the thing, I managed a few times to finish my 10min runs with no crashing, just hard landing and the blades broke off.

I've never used the fan with an RX8 and the freedom from worrying about broken blades is great. As long as the temp indicator flashes 6 or less LEDs at the end of the run, you are good.

Thank you, will try with no fan this weekend.

quick question i have a few older rx8 gen 2 escs and rs gen 2... I have the OG Hotwire and I just updated one rx8 with new firmware 255 as it said I needed to update. So I did another one and it didnt give me the message when I plugged in. But like an idiot I hit update anyway and took it from 272 back to 255 and now I cant get it to update to the newest stuff.

Is this because my Hotwire will not update past 255? If I get teh 3.0 will that let me connect to the older escs and update to latest firmware?

Anyone?

I use the original HotWire on all of my latest gen3 RX8's and they are all at 272. Try downloading the latest version of the program from Tekin website. That's the first thing I would try.

Tekin Prez 09-24-2019 10:13 AM

The current hotwire program should offer 258 for update for Rx8 gen2 units. If you Hotwire is only offering 255 it is not the current version 15.11.0 that is on the website.

We capped all the products before Gen3 to version 258 because it was the last ROAR approved version. In hindsight we probably need to still offer 272 for the RX8 and Rx4 so people have access to the active drag feature.

I just downloaded the software how do I update it

soulcoma 09-24-2019 07:07 PM

So then what’s the difference with the old Hotwire and the 2.0 and the 3.0. I just bought the 3.0 thinking I needed it

soulcoma 09-24-2019 08:00 PM

Ok just rechecked and I have 258 on both rx8 gen2. But when I first connected the one it told me I needed to update so I did brought me to 258.
The next one didn’t say anything I just hit update and then realized it was at 272. How if you say they can’t be? And and well why can’t I change it back.

Bluetooth support

Ok I got the Bluetooth working on the new 3.0 and connected and both rx8 gen 2 are 258. Why can’t I get it back to 272?

Tekin Prez 09-26-2019 09:08 AM

272 was a test version we released intending it to be the final ROAR approved version for all the esc's. We ended up moving forward to version 276 for all the new esc's and removed all versions past 258 for the older esc's so there are no non-approved versions available. Since the Rx8 and Rx4 do not need ROAR approved software we will add it back into the Hotwire program so people have access the very cool active drag feature.

soulcoma 09-27-2019 11:12 AM

When will the 272 be available?

Tekin Prez 09-27-2019 11:28 AM

We will add it back into the Howire program when we do the next update. There are some things in process and we should be posting a new version in the next week or so. If you really want 272 back now I can send you the older Hotwire file that has it available.
