hi guys wondering if I can get some information on the timing settings on the rx8 gen can I run any timing profile on the settings list. will it be ok on the motor to run a high timing on it

and any feedback regarding running these settings

it all depends on the gearing used choose to run for your track. Under race times of 5-8 min. i will look for temps and be comfortable to go no more than 185* now mind you I don't always gear that way; but it is ok.

preset factory timing profiles
C1 is 5*
C2 10*
C3 15*

It depends on the car, track, gearing, traction, driving style, etc.

Which motor? Car? Etc?

Tekin rep

Anyone from the Tekin rep know when the parts for the RX8 will be available? I send gen2 RX8 and 2 gen1 RX8 about a month ago. I call them about a week ago. They don't know when the parts will be available. I have a big race attending next weekend. Thanks

Random Question....why do the RPM start and end points contain such odd numbers?

i.e 5443 and 20016

My OCD just needs an answer to be satisfied.

So, today during the A main my buggy took a fairly decent tumble and my RX8 lost power. It did this twice during the A main. I had no problems through 3 qualifiers. I was able to cut the switch off then back on and it would work fine each time. Anyone else had this problem and were you able to eliminate it? Thanks in advance.

Check your switch or just replace it.
I had an issue that I touched the switch to turn it off and before moving the switch it shut down.
After looking at the switch it was broken on the side of the base of the pin that you move.
I replaced it and haven't had an issue since.
Good luck

Thanks for your insight. I checked the switch and it seems to be in perfect condition and still very tought. Did you replace the switch yourself?

Yes, I bought a push button switch from a electronics dist., all that is needed is an on/off.
You can also cut and tie the 2 wires together and tape up in an emergency or all the time.
You would just need to unplug the battery.

Great, thanks. I filled out an RMA with Tekin, so I am gonna hold off on any mods and see what they say.

RX8-2 fan use

Being new to the ebuggy and the RX8-2 I'm wondering if you can safely run without the fan? I have a losi 8 4.0 with the tekin combo 1900. 15/45 gears. The first 5 minutes the heat sink was around 118 degrees F and seems okay. I really don't like to run fans to keep temps within range. Has anyone had issues running without? Is it necessary regardless of the heat sink temp? Thanks,

I think you can run the fan in auto mode. It will only turn on if the ESC senses a certain temp. Kind of like a fail safe mode.

I don't run fans on mine and never have an issue. Even in my e-truggy.

Is there any issue with spraying out the internal parts with electronics cleaner? I pulled one of my RX8s apart for the first time and could not believe the amount of gunk built up in it.
