The Tekno vehicles are designed with that rubber o-ring shock absorption system for the ESC mounting plate precisely to make life easier on ESCs (as opposed to some other brands that mount straight to the chassis). Then you use whatever you're going to mount with. That Kyosho Zeal is stuff that many swear by, and it is very good. I didn't look at what Ryan mounted his ESC with, but if he used the gel then what you described is just stock Tekno mounting with the Gel adhesive that is being recommended instead of double sided tape.

The Kyosho Gel pad will make it look like your esc will be flapping all over the place but it hold very well.

I've used that moongel on my quadcopters but it gave me more wiggle in my videos. I found a hard type gel works best for video and I hope that translates to ESC too. I sent it back so I am in for the big wait.

Simple CF plate with fuel tubing cut to 2mm, Some Velcro, few screw's and a few Zip ties, Removable if needed and allows the ESC to wiggle around as needed.

Height can be an issue, but a small relief cut so the body sits down nice.

I have a tekin RSX Gen2 installed in my DEX 8T Truggy. Whenever I lightly tap the trigger it skyrockets forward. I want to have smooth control, anyone know how I can set this?

DO you mean Rx8 Gen2?

You can play with some of the settings on the esc to calm it down. But I would start first by recalibrating the ESC to your radio just to make sure nothing is because of that or you could be chasing your settings.

Any news on an RX8 Gen2 version that is waterproof?

Ah yes, I'm sorry. I did mean the RX8 G2 version. I don't know if it's waterproof or not, but it's white. When I try to recalibrate to the radio, for some reason I can't calibrate the trigger Forward. When it's time to move throttle forward, it doesn't register on the esc. Anyone know why?

What radio system are you using?

If you're running a Futaba or KoPropo radio you need to reverse your throttle channel before calibrating.

A special thanks goes out to the pro Tekin drivers out at Gas Champs this past weekend. I'm running gen2 esc and motor, and for one reason or another my Tekin 1900 motor seized during one of my quals, and I forgot my backup at home. Adam Drake had no problem stopping what he was doing to get me a brand new 1900 to get through the weekend. If Adam didn't have a spare, Ryan Lutz and Joe Bornhorst were ready and willing to help out as well. Thanks to Adam, I was able to run my main and get on the podium!

I've been running Tekin for a long time due to their customer service and support, and I will continue doing so.

IS this the size 38 x 55.8 x 25.5mm correct?

Is the tall only 25.5m with the fan or without the fan , or whatever. This seems like the short 6s ESC i can find in the world, right?

38 x 55.8 x 35.5mm

The height is the same with or without the fan.

-So the info on website is a typo? They says height is 25.5mm. I already mailed them asking! But only users of them can prove this! You are one, right?

She's 35,5mm height! :D

Had a couple of wierd issues in the last two weeks.
Last week my car acted as though it was glitching out or had a bad switch. Rebound and check all the wires etc. then on the warmup of the next race while going around a sweeper (not a hard landing etc.) it spontaneously combusted. Lucky it go so hot the batter lead de soldered and a brave and quick marshal was able to prevent further damage to the car.

I had a new RX8 left over from a replacement I swapped out and it was fine this weekend. I think this particualr track which is giving me issues since it is really hard packed and has some big jumps that can lead to harsh landings. What are you guys doing to keep your RX8's from biting the dust? It's in a Tekno with rubber mounts under the ESC tray and and I use two layers of 3M extreme between the ESC and the tray. This go around with the buggy I squirted some expanding foam between the tray and chasis to give a little more shock proofing.

Second issue was this weekend with the truggy. Right before the main the ESC developed a slight push as if I had turned on push control or trimmed up on the throttle, but i disabled all of the trim switches on my TX to prevent this very problem. Held the break on the grid then just had to deal with lack of off power steering and braking to keep the nose down during the main.

After power cycling the ESC the push went away, so i was going to recalibrate for good measure, but it would not lock in the break setting. Now i'm paranoid that any strange behavior is tell-tale sign of another spontaneous combustion.

Really just trying to get as much life out of these last two RX8's and don't want to deal with another round of non-warranty repair and shipping costs. To be fair customer service has been good to replace one without warranty info for free, but it's getting a little ridiculous.
