You have some push control set somehow OR your NW known as neutral width is too narrow.
If your radio has any signal "float" this could occur. What radio? What settings did you go with? If you don't have a Hotwire and you need to turn off the push control you can factory reset the esc which will clear out all the settings. You can then install your settings, redo the radio calibration and enjoy the esc. Got it figured out. I ended up resetting it to the factory default. Its all good now. Thanks! |
Hey Randy, any ETA about ability to at least dump datalogs from ESC using hotwire and android?
|
No ETA yet but the team has been testing it for a few weeks now.
You can "dump" data logs or clear them by using the buttons. But if you want to "save" the files for later review, you'll still need your PC. |
I am having an issue in my ebuggy with the throttle cutting out on hard landings. It started having this issue right before my last ESC died. I figured a new Gen 2 would do the trick, however it did not. Occasionally on hard landings the throttle will quite working but the steering still works. I have the ESC mounted on a square of the Kyosho gel tape. My motor is a few months old and is a gen 2 1900 . I thought it could be my servo causing issues so installed a Hitec 7955 that has some use on it but works great. I also changed my sensor wire thinking that could be the problem. None of this has done the trick, however. I am at a loss as to what to do next. Any ideas?

Also, wiggle the posts on the esc, any of them loose?

yes, use some kyosho zero zeal vibration sheet (Z80006) to fix your ESC (zero zeal is on the right, just to give you an idea of its absorption capabilities) http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j8...3/a42dd863.jpg or two layers of parma servo tape http://www.amain.com/images/large/par/par8044_1.jpg or 3M Dual Lock http://www.itapestore.com/productima...back_nosum.jpg |

I want to update the firmware in my RX8 Gen2. What is the best version to use?
|
Newest one, just go to the hotwire page and hit the download box.

This can be audibly heard on the track sometimes and sounds like a reset chime. Some receivers also don't work well with the HV servos and HV bec. I know of a few "sport" receivers that seem to have issues with this. So if you're having an issue, post all your equipment model #'s and we can help sort you out. It's also helpful to know your car, gearing, battery used, battery connector style, servo, receiver, any other things in the car like a p/t or fan kit. |
Thanks for the ideas! None of the posts are loose on the ESC. I did not hear the reset chime, however I have not been near the car or in a quiet environment when it glitched out. Also, I can steer the car left and right when the ESC glitches out, I just do not have throttle for a few seconds. I am not running an HV servo so the BEC is set at 6V. I am driving a Serpent 811-E geared 17/46. I am running 2 SMC 6000 80C (160C burst) 2S Lipos. The batteries have inboard bullet connects and I am using 4mm Castle bullets as the connector on the ESC. The servo is a Hitec 7955. The radio is a Airtronics MT-4 and the receiver is the RX-462. I have a Novak glitchbuster plugged in to the receiver as a precautionary measure. I have a 2 wire AMB transponder and a fan on the ESC.

I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. Today I ran my new RX8 Gen 2 for the first time. First battery no issues (only ran for 6 minutes). I let the car cool for about 45 minutes and while running the second after a medium hit I lost connection to the controller. I have attempted to re-calibrate it a number of time but it will not even find neutral. I then hooked up another RX8 Gen 2 that I have everything is fine. Is there any tricks to getting it to calibrate or do I need to contact Tekin?

If you're using the "basket" style 4mm connectors, get ride of them. Get some solid ones like Protek's etc. Those basket ones can cause the same issues, erratic operation. |
