I have an rs gen 2, I switched from dx4c to a dx4r pro and I can't get it to calibrate, it will do the neutral and full throttle but it won't do the reverse. I have the travel at 100% on both forward and reverse.

Make sure the Brake strength percentage on the main screen is at 100% before you calibrate. Another thing to do is start with a fresh model that has never been used before and bind to receiver and then calibrate.

it's a new radio, I went from the dx4c to the dx4r. I didn't have any problem with the dx4c but now I can't get the dx4r to calibrate for some reason. I have several of these esc first time I've had problems calibrating.

Did you google or YouTube for someone with the same problem? If not I would contact Spektrum and see what they say and if worse comes to worst sell it and go back to the dx4c that you know works and sell the other one (first dibs) lol

Change your throttle to reverse on the transmitter, same as setting servo between Rev/Norm

That will make it calibrate.

Just out of curiousity; I began to work on my car/esc but it wouldn't turn on.

Weird; so I plugged in a different battery and then it came to life; the other battery I slapped on the charger for 10 minutes. When it came to life the locked out big event codes were flashing.

I put the hotwire on it and updated the esc, recalibrated the settings/transmitter and then the proper 3 and 5 lights were on signalling blinky.

My question is; is the esc going on the fritz? not sure why it wouldn't turn on at first. radio calibration maybe; what is a big event error anyway, is it even an error?

If your DX4r has AVC make sure you follow the calibration. Not doing so will create ESC calibration issues.

It's possible the dead battery didn't allow it to power up properly.

Default Brake and Throttle Frequencies

Randy,
Can you explain a little more in detail about the new throttle and brake frequency ranges. For example, what type of conditions would best make use of changes in throttle or brake frequency. Stock, mod, on-road, off-road. 1/10 scale, 8 scale
Thanks

Updated setup sheets or a brief rundown on your stock buggy settings would be awesome Randy. Love my new tekin gear

Default 13.5 wheeler with boost ?

We run a 13.5 binky class in 4wd , which is fun. I have read plenty of posts confirming the rs g2 would be fine for this , my question is would it handle boost on a 13.5 4wd without problems ? Yokomo bmaxx shorty set up , tekin rs , tekin 13.5

I have the standard capacitor on my gen2 esc (16V PS174) I came to understand the a capacitor on a different esc was poor and lead to poor acceleration so it was recommended to upgrade. Should I consider upgrading the capacitor on my gen2? My 21.5 usgt certainly could use more punch although I think getting a 12.5 rotor is the answer.
