Use the ethernet cable that came with the decoder connect to computer and execute the .exe of the update. The update is specific to that decoders serial number. |

Thanks Bob.
That link answered all my questions. I wasn't thorough enough in my search of the Mylaps website. |
MRT NEWS
MRT RC4 Information I have been given permission to pass on this information . MRT now have a pt that will work on ALL My laps systems. You can Have your existing personal number, also. Myself and others have had these for a few months with very positive results. So in summary your current MRT. will work on mylaps up to rc3 the new version will work on ALL mylaps not just limit you to Rc4 It's done as a trade in, send old transponder pay for a new PTX (NS) transponder at a reduced price (-50%) with the option to buy an extra one at half price. Supplied transponders are on the original cloned ID number or a matching ID number for non clones. **LATEST NEWS** They are available now, requesting an order number and completing order form (send with transponders) notifying ID numbers in advance helps to speed up order processing and return of new transponders. The order form and info via: [email protected] or [email protected] for technical/support. |

Can MRT update our current ones? It seems as though buying a new one, whether AMB or MRT, is the problem we are trying to avoid. I only have one MRT and likely won't buy another since the same thing might happen again in the future. What I'd like to see is a new decoder system with reasonable prices across the board for tracks and racers, then we can all collectively give AMB the finger.

What is the cost of the upgrade? I may send in 4 units

Wow...Decisions, decisions....To upgrade decoder or not upgrade decoder, that is the new question....
|
Now with MRT releasing an RC4 compatible transponder, is it along the line of an RC4 hybrid where it is backward-compatible with the older decoders, or is it like the RC4 "pure" where it will only work with an RC4 decoder?

I have just recently recieved my RC4 decoder, and tonight I have mocked it up so that I can test in in the living room. In a mockup situation just passing the PT over the loop, the RC4 is registering the MRT transponder. Will this repeat itself in racing conditions? Who knows, but it looks promising. (Note: I am not talking about updated MRT transponders. Im talking about the old ones that are not supposed to read on an RC4.
Go figure. :) |
