Even if you got the DX3R Pro which does have telemetry you are still stuck with that SR3300T receiver which can be the reason you have poor range.

Again it will depend on a lot of variables such as which receiver, environment, installation and so forth.
I get about the same range with my 4PL as I do with my DX3R so I can't tell you if you will get more range.
At least the cost of receivers will be less with the Futaba, about half the price of the good Spektrum receivers (SR3500, SR3520, etc).
Also the Futabas are a little bit slower at the High Speed settings for digital servos (6.8ms vs 5.5ms), as if you would ever notice a 1.3ms difference.
