i have heard that the lower end rx's are the issue, however i was to unsure to purchase a nice one when a little more savings could get me off spektrum and onto something like airtonics or futaba

imma put the antenna back to full length and see if that helps.. hopefully it does and will get me by for a while till i can buy a better system..

I have been looking at the futaba 4PL.. Will my temp sensor off my spectrum system work with the futaba?

i cant comment on the telemetry working with the new transmitter but i have used one before and they feel really nice in ur hands, worked like any other transmitter should.... solid product

The 4pl is a very nice radio but it has no telemetry functions.

that sucks!! i could care less about the the speed or rpm feature but i do like the temp feature and the battery voltage stuff..

Even if you got the DX3R Pro which does have telemetry you are still stuck with that SR3300T receiver which can be the reason you have poor range.

thats is what i have been thinking also.. instead of switching recievers ill just buy the futaba and not worry with it..

alright rumor time. guy at the hobby shop told me today that futaba makes spektrum's electronic parts.

I was told that Spectrum is JR.

Again it will depend on a lot of variables such as which receiver, environment, installation and so forth.

I get about the same range with my 4PL as I do with my DX3R so I can't tell you if you will get more range.

At least the cost of receivers will be less with the Futaba, about half the price of the good Spektrum receivers (SR3500, SR3520, etc).

Also the Futabas are a little bit slower at the High Speed settings for digital servos (6.8ms vs 5.5ms), as if you would ever notice a 1.3ms difference.
